You may want to go completely lavish for your wedding day but this doesn’t mean that you can’t be conscious and considerate of mother earth.

Wedding are lots of fun and planning a green wedding day lends itself to getting really innovative in every way. All aspects of your wedding day can be green!

I have done a lot of research and found quite a few wedding vendors who can help you plan an eco wedding or event.

Here are some ideas I have put together for Australian Weddings –

Invitations –

If you book your wedding with Carol Slater Photography, you receive a portrait sitting for $60 (saving 50%) which can be for the whole family but we will make some beautiful, unique invitations on 100% recycled cards of the beautiful couple. These can be used for save the date cards, engagement party invites etc. You will also receive an electronic version.

For the fashion forward and style savvy, it’s not always easy being Green. But the couture-inspired creations of Deborah Lindquist are changing are all that. As one of L.A.'s most sought after environmentally conscious designers Deborah creates exquisite apparel out of a mix of "reincarnated" and new earth-friendly fabrics. She has dressed trend setters such as Sharon Stone, Gwen Stefani, Demi Moore, Hillary Duff, Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton and Charize Theron. Jewelers –

Consider responsibly recycled precious metals (gold, palladium and platinum) and non-conflict, sweatshop free diamonds and coloured gemstones. Have a look here for ethical jewelers.

Well that wraps up this week. Be sure to come back next week when I continue with Planning a Green Wedding Part 2.
