New Eco Friendly Albums and Prints Coming Soon

That's right! Eco Albums. It's very exciting - I will be introducing these beautiful albums and prints to you very soon. More couples are trying to plan greener weddings and until now there was no real choice in Wedding Albums in Australia.

GOING GREEN

Having studied photography in the days of film I would spend hours in my B&W darkroom and emerge smelling of chemicals. I was never keen on the gelatin (dried powdered animals feet) contained in film either. I am so pleased to be shooting digitally these days - immersed in Photoshop instead of chemicals.

I’ve been a vegetarian for 21 yrs – my husband and I recently became vegan after seeing a life changing film called “Earthlings” which looks at our use of animals for food, clothing and entertainment and the impact this has on our environment and our health.

My family and I have moved towards an environmentally friendly way of life at home and I believe my photography should also move in this direction. I feel is up to us to leave this world healthy for future generations. We are always looking for new ways to do our part for the environment.

I try to extend that into my business every chance I get. Every little bit helps!

A few changes have taken place in my studio and the products I offer my clients. I am proud to say I am one of the only eco friendly photographers in Australia and I am so excited to share these with you.

I have sourced some products from around the globe that are not only beautiful and unique but don’t cost the earth.

ALBUMS


A handmade blend of nature and luxury, these albums are currently the only environmentally friendly flushmount album in the world. Each book is assembled without the use of large machines, by hand. The cover and endpaper options are meticulously selected for their durability, sustainability, minimal environmental impact, and beauty. The albums are also the only environmentally friendly album currently available with completely archival quality papers, inks, and binding materials.

The Magnolia Album features seamless flushmount fine art page spreads in a variety of sizes- 8" x 8", 12" x 12", 11” x 14” and 6” x 18” panoramic. All books have a choice of different cover options including the unique 100% hemp canvas printed with a special transfer process involving archival quality inks to produce a stunning effect on your photographs.

Each album comes with a protective bag completely handmade from reclaimed linen recycled from local thrift stores.

ECO MATTE RECYCLED PAPER

After a great deal of hunting for something more sustainable than what printhouses are currently offering, we happily stumbled upon the world’s first and only 100% post-consumer recycled and archival quality fine art matte paper. With a rich, warm tone and virtually no speckling, this gorgeous paper will disappoint none with its capacity to hold brilliant color at the highest resolution.

SUGAR CANE PAPER

Sugar Cane combines the high standards of a Fine Art inkjet paper with responsible use of raw materials. A “bagasse” pulp is used that is a by-product of raw sugar production. The cotton portion is made from recycling paper waste. Displaying the fine texture of a pastel paper Sugar Cane lends every image an artistic look and feel.”

This paper is perfect for those seeking a paper that’s as sustainable as our Eco-Matte but wanting the thickness and texture of the Watercolor paper. The Sugar Cane is visibly off-white, giving each page a warm, creamy tone while still retaining excellent color reproduction.

WATERCOLOR PAPER

In addition to our eco-matte paper, we offer you the highest quality giclee paper in the world today. Our watercolor paper is velvet to the touch with slight texturing. Not only is this paper thicker than our eco-matte option, it is also slightly brighter and capable of the most brilliant colored fine art prints. Even if you examine these prints with a magnifying glass you will not be able to see any dotting. In addition to being an amazing paper, the watercolor is also tree-free, made from 100% cotton. Renewable and beautiful, no other album company offers this paper to date.
